A Battalion Chief can take the Firefighter OT and fill the open Battalion Chief position in order to prevent having to mandatory a Firefighter.) Deviations may be considered to avoid over use of any one particular position (i.e. Autonomous Paramedic when a Non Autonomous Paramedic is all that is needed to meet minimum staffing).
