Section 1 - ADMINISTRATIVE

110.32 Call Back Program for Chief Officers

PURPOSE:

To provide criteria for the Fire Department Chief Officer or their designee to call back personnel (hire overtime) to staff additional apparatus in the event of a natural or manmade incident which reduces the department’s available units.

Procedure:

  • The Chief Officer will determine, as quickly as possible, if the duration of the incident and the lack of available units will exist longer than one hour.
  • If it is deemed to be a prolonged incident, the Chief Officer will initiate a call back of necessary personnel using CrewSense.
  • Information on the specifics of the call back will be provided on the CrewSense notification.
  • In accordance with SOG 110.23 Staffing & Overtime , the six hour rule applies to this SOG.
