110.14 Promotional Requirements
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this Standard Operating Guideline is to provide a framework for promotional opportunities and assessments within the Maitland Fire Rescue Department.
PROCEDURE:
The requirements listed below are the minimum requirements necessary to hold a particular rank level; the procedure to conduct a promotional assessment; and the objectives of each assessment.
Promotional Assessment: The department will conduct a promotional assessment, at a minimum, every two years. Candidates who successfully pass all portions of the assessment will remain on a promotional list until the start of the next assessment.
Assessment Procedure:
- The Department will hold an assessment, the specific date(s) will be announced no later than 30 days prior to the date(s).
- Study material and assessment specifics will be announced no later than 30 days prior to the start of the assessment date(s).
- Candidates who wish to participate in an assessment must follow the instructions from the Division Chief of Training.
- No make-ups will be provided. If a candidate misses any portion of an assessment, they will be excluded from the assessment.
