ELECTROLYTE

Hypertonic Saline / 3% Saline

DESCRIPTION

  • Strong saline solution used to shift fluid out of the cells and decrease intercranial pressure

INDICATIONS

  • Traumatic Brain Injury

CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • None found

PRECAUTIONS

  • None found

DOSAGE

  • Pediatrics - 5 ml/kg IV/IO utilizing 10 gtts drip set.
  • Max dose 250 ml
