8.12 CORTICOSTEROIDS
Methylprednisolone (SOLU-MEDROL) / Corticosteroid
DESCRIPTION
- Anti-inflammatory. Suppresses the immune response.
INDICATIONS
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to the medication
PRECAUTIONS
- Must be reconstituted and used promptly. Onset of action 2-6 hrs.
DOSAGE
- Adults: 125 mg IVP
- Pediatrics: Refer to Handtevy System
- 2 mg/kg IVP
